Supporting the Mental Health and Economic Viability of Agricultural Communities Farming communities face significant mental health challenges   shaped by economic uncertainty\, isolation\, and the physical and emotional demands of agricultural work. Yet these challenges remain underaddressed and underrecognized. Florence Becot\, PhD (Penn State) will provide a research-based overview of mental health and well-being in agriculture: what drives these outcomes\, how communities and programs are responding\, and what avenues hold the most promise for meaningful change. Dr. Becot is the Nationwide Insurance Early Career Professor in Agricultural Safety and Health at Penn State and directs the Penn State Agricultural Safety and Health Program\, with expertise in the health\, safety\, well-being\, and economic viability of agricultural communities.
